NEW TECHNIQUE FOR SELF-ANALYSIS
This paper will explore an alternative way to do self-analysis. Psychoanalysts historically have utilized dream interpretation as the primary vehicle for self-analysis. However, in the author’s case, lengthy efforts to do self-analysis using night time dreams was near to a complete failure. Night time dreams turned out to be too complex to interpret. Out of nowhere, the author came upon the discovery of the ‘Dominant Image Method.’ Its outcome furnishes what is called a ‘mini-dream,’ an entity that is smaller, shorter and of less complexity than a typical night dream. Though smaller in substance, a mini-dream or what can be also called a dominant image still packs a powerful punch of useful interpretative material.
